Lenape Bulldog Club of Pennsylvania

This group initially met socially during 1997. Ongoing since October 1998, the club's monthly meetings are held on the third Friday of every month.

The club's newsletter is named ''Dews, Flews, and News''.

Some of the club's significant activities and historial dates are preserved below:

17 October 1998. First official club meeting was held. Name submitted to AKC as Bulldog Club of Eastern Pennsylvania.

November 1998. Dr. Joan Hendricks, VMD, Ph.D., Professor and Chief of Critical l Care Section of University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School. Lecture on sleep apnea.

Mar-1999. AKC accepted name of Lenape Bulldog Club of Pennsylvania.

February 1999. Club participated in dog behavioral study of Dr. Yuying Hsu, Department of Clinical Studies of University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School.

3 Oct- 1999. 1st Fun Match: Auburn Memorial Park, Auburn, PA.

19-Nov. 1999. Dr. Robert Nicol, DVM. Lecture on Bulldog thyroid problems.

18-Dec-1999. Christmas Party, at Edye DiMonti's house. Total of 34 members attended.

2-Apr-2000. 2nd Fun Match: Coppersmith Memorial Park, West Chester, PA.

17Sep-2000 3rd Fun Match: Samaan's estate, Bowers, PA.

November, 2000. Web site established, www.lenapebulldogclub.com.

19-May-2001. 4th Fun Match: Auburn Memorial Park, Auburn, PA.

April-June 2002. Puppy Socialization & Handling Classes (weekly).

23-Jun-02. 1st AKC Sanctioned Match: Leesport Farmer's Market, Leesport, PA.

22-Jun-03. 2nd AKC Sanctioned Match: Leesport Farmer's Market, Leesport, PA..

27-Jun-04. 3rd AKC Sanctioned Match: Leesport Farmer's Market, Leesport, PA.

24-Oct-04. 1st AKC Sanctioned A Match: Leesport Farmer's Market, Leesport, PA.

21-October-05 The club was officially recognized and approved by the AKC.
